Oakland County CISMA is a Go Beyond Beauty Hub of the Go Beyond Beauty program. Go Beyond Beauty works with nurseries, garden centers, landscapers, and homeowners to raise awareness of the ecological impacts of invasive plants and to support the transition toward more sustainable, biodiversity-friendly landscaping practices.

As a hub partner, Oakland County CISMA serves as a local connector—providing outreach, resources, and support to encourage native plant use and help communities “go beyond beauty” in their landscapes. Oakland County CISMA aims to connect with local plant retail shops and landscapers to encourage them to participate in the Go Beyond Beauty program by pledging to not use or sell high priority invasive ornamental species. By doing so, they help prevent the spread of invasive species and contribute to building a more resilient and climate-adapted environment.
Participants in the Go Beyond Beauty program receive partnership support from natural resource professionals like OC CISMA. If you are a local nursery interested in participating in the Go Beyond Beauty program contact Patrick Canniff canniffp@oakgov.com to learn more.
